Medication:

amoxicilline iv 12g continuous per 24 hours 6 weeks

+

ceftriaxon iv 2g 1dd 6 weeks

+

doxycycline po 100mg 2dd 6 weeks
Remarks:

Overweeg doxycycline te stoppen wanneer aanvullende diagnostiek naar intracellulaire microorganismen (zoals Coxiella, Bartonella) negatief is.

General comments

  • Overweeg therapie te switchen naar kweek negatieve endocarditis indien bloedkweken, afgenomen voor start antibiotica, na 72 uur nog negatief zijn
  • Therapie aanpassen aan gevonden verwekker 
  • Alle patienten met hoge verdenking op endocarditis aanmelden voor het MDO endocarditis.
