General comments

Voor de behandeling van cutane leishmaniasis (Leishmania tropica en overige Leishmaniasoorten) zijn diverse therapeutische opties beschikbaar. Therapie kan bestaan uit: afwachten, cryochirurgie, chirurgie, electrocoagulatie, lokale intralesionale medicamenteuze therapie en/of systemische therapie. Therapie keuze is afhankelijk van uitgebreidheid en lokalisatie van huidafwijkingen en oorzakelijk land. Sommige vormen (L. major, L. tropica, L. mexicana) genezen spontaan en hebben geen behandeling nodig.

Behandeling in overleg met arts-microbioloog en internist-infectioloog.
